a tale of two seasons

a vérité chronicle of travel, growth, and the unfiltered streets of japan.

intro

This project is how my creative eye evolved into what it is today.

Travelling solo across Japan over span of two seasons - summer of 23’, and winter of 24’. Urban and rural, by foot or by train, this journey took place across 12 different cities.

This project taught me how to observe; the subtlety of human gesture, the unspoken rituals, and the nuance of everyday life.

This serves as the origin of my vérité approach — with patience, and an eye to frame.

compassion

The silence of the moment, the effervescence of camaraderie — the sonder of humanity. Human warmth reveals itself in many ways.

tradition

Heritage not only lives in the past, but passes along with every visitor — as well as the dawn of every day. The legacy we leave behind is just as important as those before us.

devotion

Consistency, repetition, refinement — not only the hallmarks of craftsmanship, but that of one who forges their meaning. Devotion only blossoms in the presence of deep care and continued discipline.

velocity

Like all things in life, everything moves with velocity. Each and every moment is subject to impermanence — whether positive or negative. This creates value in all experiences.

nightfall

When night falls — light glows differently, as well as people. Night serves as a trial for those daring enough to strive for the stars.

close

This chapter is an integral part of my life, and my artistic aspirations.

The value of stillness, input, meaning, experience, and ideals — how each feeds the other.

The story is always there, given you stay long enough to witness it.
